Creating a food web

In our science lesson today, we went outside and recreated a food web based on UK wildlife. Each person took on the role of either a producer or a consumer (herbivore, omnivore or carnivore) and we tracked the transfer of energy from the sun, to producers and then on to consumers, using red wool.

When we had finished ‘consuming’ each other we laid our web out on the ground, to see how interwoven it was:
